The Heirloom Ring takes on the history from the 18th century shipwreck treasure discovery in the coast of Yucatán, México. The ship, which was traveling from México to Spain, sank in a reef area near the coast. More than three hundred pieces, thought to be created in Oaxaca, consisting of gold figures, rings, necklaces, buckles, chains, rosaries, reliquaries, and religious symbols encrusted with emeralds were some of the pieces found. The deep yellow gold color contrasting with green emeralds were the inspiration for The Heirloom Ring. We use deep green Serpentine from the state of Chiapas and blue Turquoise from the state of Sonora. These gemstones, sourced and hand cut in México, serve as a tribute to the country's rich natural resources and the artistry of its craftspeople, a treasure on itself.
